Charity
I work with a number of charities, both at home and abroad. I also set up my own charitable organisation, The James Caan Foundation, which supports a number of very worthwhile causes. Please read on for further details and click on the links to go to the charities' own websites.

The James Caan Foundation
I set up The James Caan Foundation in 2006. I wanted to take the ingredients I used to make a success of the business world and apply the same principles to both the western and developing world, where children continue to lack access to basic education and healthcare.
I believe every child has the right to an education and the opportunity to progress and enjoy success for themselves.
I am in a priviliged position to be able to take what I have learnt and apply it to make a difference in this area. I am involved in a number of initiatives with a range of charities which share my vision and reflect the values of helping children get a better start in life.

Edutrust
The British Edutrust Foundation (EDUTRUST) is a not for profit organisation which was established to promote educational excellence in schools. Its main focus is on young people. The Foundation is committed to significantly improving the aspirations, learning, achievements and personal development of these young people, irrespective of their ability, faith or race.
I am a founding trustee of the organisation and sit on the Board alongside individuals including Lord Carey and Professor David Khalili. A key mission of the Foundation is to focus on the UK's deprived schools, targeting low quality education in failed communities. Our vision is to regenerate these schools by replacing them or providing improved facilities and giving the pupils the best available education standards.

Educare
The Educare Trust is a non-profit agency. Its mission is to help economically deprived children in rural and urban India to pursue education in private unaided schools. Our role is to take over the responsibility of failing schools from the Government and deliver more teachers and training as part of a greatly improved infrastructure. We have helped transform over 180 schools and currently teach more than 100,000 children free of charge each month.

My School in Lahore
I bought a plot of land in my native Lahore, in northern Pakistan, and built a school there. I was thrilled to be able to invite the local children who could not afford education to attend free. The adrenaline I get from doing this is greater than any deal and it is something I plan to devote much more time to in the future.

The NSPCC
Closer to home, I am a great supporter of the NSPCC's Full Stop Campaign, which I feel is an excellent way of helping the children of this country. Through my support and contacts, we have successfully raised over £1 million for this very worthwhile cause. I’ve been very fortunate in my own life and I feel lucky to be able to help those who have been less fortunate.
