Timothy James Consulting, a Hamilton Bradshaw company named as the UK’s
2nd fastest growing recruitment company

Senior Appointments specialists, Timothy James Consulting, have been names as Britain’s second fastest growing recruitment company by The Recruiter’s Fast 50 list. This is the Bristol grown firm’s first award of 2012 and follows previous accolades throughout 2011 including winning their third consecutive The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 award and being named the 5th Best Small Company to work for by The Sunday Times and 3rd Best Company to work for by Great Place to Work.

The Recruiter Fast 50 prepared by Boxington Corporate Finance lists the fastest growing private recruitment businesses in the UK according to compound annual sales growth rate as measured over each entrant’s most recent three-year financial reporting period. Tim Evans, MD of Boxington Corporate Finance, told The Recruiter that qualifying companies who made it onto this year’s Fast 50 list ‘have shown they’ve got the substance and momentum to endure hard conditions’. Timothy James have aptly demonstrated this with year-on-year growth on headcount and profit and plans in place to double the amount of consultants on the sales floor in 2012. Their ambitious expansion plans were realised in late 2011 with the opening of the Manchester office, their third location in the UK, and plans to open overseas in Australia in place for end of 2012. In a time of economic downturn, Timothy James have increased revenue from £17 million in 2007 to over £25 million in 2011. Coupled with a voluntary attrition rate of just 17% compared to an industry average of over 50%, Timothy James Consulting have not only weathered the storm; they have also secured their position as industry leaders in the Senior Appointments space.

This is the firm’s first year of entry into The Recruiter’s Fast 50 and CEO Chris O’Connell states “we are delighted to be named Britain’s second fastest growing recruitment company in 2012 – this is a tremendously prestigious achievement and marks the start of a fantastic year for us! Appearing in the Fast 50 cements our aims to continually outgrow and improve our offering, both externally and internally. This is a great opportunity to join our team and we are continually looking to expand – we couldn’t do it without such a dedicated and focused team of innovative consultants who drive the business forward and we are always looking to nurture and develop our internal talent.  They are directly responsible for such a positive growth trajectory.”

So what lies ahead for Timothy James Consulting in 2012? After receiving investment from recruitment heavyweight James Caan’s private equity firm, Hamilton Bradshaw, this senior appointments consultancy now has the collateral to achieve, and indeed exceed, its projected growth plans.  This recognition from the Fast 50 list marks the start of what lies ahead in terms of achieving all objectives. O’ Connell enthused “I am impassioned and inspired to achieve all our goals and break all records, continually looking to improve and enhance the business as well as the individuals within it. With such a strong senior management team working together to achieve the same goals we will continue to succeed and are proud to receive industry recognition.”
